Getting started with Injectable PrEP
Once you have prescribed injectable PrEP, there are different product acquisition pathways you can take to get your patients started, based on your preference and their payer coverage.
Specialty pharmacies can help with all steps to get your patient’s prescribed medication shipped to you under either the medical or pharmacy benefit.

Your office may have an in-house pharmacy that can purchase and dispense the patient's prescribed medication. We suggest you review the reimbursement rates from the patient's payer for both product and administration.

If your patient’s insurance covers injectable PrEP under the medical benefit, you can acquire both the oral loading doses and injectable maintenance doses to administer in-office through the buy and bill process.

Which financial assistance program is right for your patient?
Gilead Advancing Access is committed to helping your patients afford their medication no matter their situation.
If your patient has commercial or private insurance through their employer or directly from a health insurance company, the Gilead Advancing Access Co-pay Savings Program assists eligible patients who need financial assistance with their co-pays. Your patient may be able to lower their out-of-pocket (OOP) costs with the Gilead Advancing Access Co-pay Savings Program.

There are many different types of government insurance and programs, and we can help your patient understand precisely what their coverage is. Several types of government healthcare programs, such as Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and TRICARE/VA may cause your patient to be ineligible for Gilead’s Advancing Access Co-pay Savings Program. Support may be available through independent co-pay foundations. These foundations are independent, nonprofit organizations that have their own eligibility criteria and application processes.

Through the Medication Assistance Program (MAP), your patient may be eligible to receive their Gilead medication free of charge.
